What is Pro-Nox?
Pro-Nox™ is FDA-cleared analgesia that delivers 50% nitrous oxide and 50% oxygen. It’s used to ease pain, anxiety, and discomfort that can come with a variety of procedures, including the plastic surgery and medical aesthetic treatments we offer at Heartland Plastic Surgery. It can make many treatment processes much easier and when you are more comfortable, your provider is better able to give you the best results possible.
While typically analgesics (also known as painkillers) include medications like aspirin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, or opioid pain medications, Pro-Nox uses nitrous oxide and oxygen gas to give you a feeling that other patients have described as “similar to laughing gas.” And since it’s self-administered, you’re in control of when you need it.
Before & After Photos
During your consultation visit, your surgeon will show you before and after pictures of patients who have undergone Pro-Nox. You will be able to see firsthand the difference the procedure made for these people. Interested in viewing before and after photos before your consultation? Visit our online gallery.

Unlike anesthesia which stops the nerve signals from the brain and the body, analgesics like Pro-Nox temporarily block the body’s pain signals from reaching the brain. While using the gas, your brain will not be able to detect pain.
Who is Pro-Nox For?
Pro-Nox is perfect for anyone who is nervous or anxious about having a procedure. It can help put you at ease and ensure you’re completely comfortable. It’s also for anyone who is concerned about the level of discomfort or pain they may be feeling during treatment.
Whatever you’re having done at Heartland Plastic Surgery, we will ensure you’re made as comfortable as possible.
