What is Coolsculpting Elite?
CoolSculpting® is a revolutionary new procedure that allows people to reduce body fat without having to undergo surgery. It involves using a special machine to target fat cells and then freeze them so that they can then be eliminated by the body naturally. There are no incisions, no suction and no anesthesia required. This procedure has been approved by the FDA for the removal of fat cells in the flanks and abdomen and can be performed as an outpatient procedure in as little as two hours.
The ONLY Crystal Preferred provider in Southeast Missouri.

CoolSculpting® is considered to be a cosmetic procedure and is, therefore, not covered by most health insurance plans. In order to make this procedure affordable, our office at Heartland Plastic & Hand Surgery Medical Spa accepts several types of payment options. They are cash, credit cards (Visa, Master Card, Discover, and American Express), money orders, cashier checks, and financing with an outside agency.
Is there anything I need to do to get myself ready for CoolSculpting®?
To reduce bruising and the risk of hematoma, you may stop taking blood thinners at least one week before and after this procedure. If you are on prescription blood thinners, you may need to get medical clearance from your family doctor, as well as instructions on how to stop these medications.
At Heartland Plastic & Hand Surgery Medical Spa, the patient must be in overall good health before CoolSculpting® can be performed. If there are questions regarding your health, medical clearance from your family doctor may be required.
Is Coolsculpting Dangerous?
When performed by a professional, CoolSculpting is very safe due to its noninvasive nature. After CoolSculpting, you may experience some swelling and changes in sensation in the treatment area, however, these should diminish in a few days.
Is there a better time of year to have Coolsculpting performed?
Patients can start to see results as soon as three weeks following treatment, with the most dramatic results occurring over a period of two to four months in most patients. If you are having this procedure done to prepare for swimsuit season or another special event, you should take these things into consideration when scheduling.

Is Coolsculpting Permanent?
After CoolSculpting, the treated fat cells will be naturally eliminated by the body. Once fat cells are destroyed, they cannot “grow back,” however, weight gain in untreated areas can occur. For long-lasting results from your treatment, make sure you practice a healthy diet and regular exercise routine.
