What is JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC?

Heartland Plastic & Hand Surgery Medical Spa now offers two products to enhance your lips, providing natural, long-lasting results. Juvéderm® Ultra XC has been effectively used in our practice to add volume to naturally thin lips, giving a fuller appearance. For those who have noticed their lips thinning over time, accompanied by vertical lip lines, Juvéderm Volbella® XC may be the ideal solution. Juvéderm Volbella® XC is the most recent addition to the Juvéderm® collection, created to add subtle volume to lips while smoothing the appearance of vertical lip lines for up to one year.

Is JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC Right For Me?

Juvéderm Volbella® XC is an ideal treatment option for adults over the age of 21 who wish to correct thinning lips. The injectable is also an excellent choice for men and women who wish to reduce the appearance of wrinkles around the lips without undergoing an invasive surgical treatment. Juvéderm Volbella® XC is recommended for patients who wish for a safe, easy lip augmentation that is long-lasting and has little recovery time.

How is JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC Administered?

Injectable fillers are safe, simple procedures that are administered directly in our office. While Juvederm is comprised mainly of a naturally occurring substance and produces little discomfort, some patients may opt to use a topical numbing cream for added comfort. Juvéderm fillers are especially popular because the hyaluronic acid injections can be completed in as little as one hour, allowing patients to return to their everyday activities immediately following treatment. At Heartland Plastic & Hand Surgery, one of our board-certified injectors will gently inject the Juvéderm Volbella® XC solution directly into the target areas with minimal discomfort. Volbella injections contain lidocaine to help reduce discomfort, and patients are encouraged to take advantage of the complimentary topical numbing creams and ice packs available in our private waiting room.

What Can I Expect After JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC?

Unlike other providers, master injectors have extensive training in safety, facial anatomy, the risks and benefits of individual products, and creating a customized treatment plan to help patients reach their goal results. At Heartland Plastic Surgery, our master injector, J. Stewart Humphrey, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon with over 20 years of experience in the Cape Girardeau area.

Juvéderm® treatments are popular thanks to their fast results and lack of recovery time. You’ll begin to see the results almost immediately following treatment, with results that can last up to one year. You may experience slight redness, swelling, or tenderness around the injection site. These symptoms are normal and should subside shortly after treatment. If possible, it is important to avoid using medications that can prolong bleeding, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or other blood thinners prior to the procedure, as they may result in increased bruising or bleeding at the injection site.
