How Is Juvederm Volux XC Administered?

At Heartland Plastic & Hand Surgery, Juvederm Volux XC is administered by injection into the soft tissue of the jawline. While you may notice some slight discomfort in the treatment areas due to the fine-gauge needle that’s used, there is lidocaine in the gel to provide comfort to the injection site. How many injections you need will depend on your facial tissue, goals, and what your provider recommends.

What Can I Expect After Injections With Juvéderm Volux XC?

After Juvederm Volux XC injections, you may notice some tenderness, bumpiness, swelling, bruising, redness, and itching. There is minimal downtime, so the most common side effects are typically temporary and usually subside within a couple of weeks or less. Adverse events are rare, but patients should be honest and open about their medical conditions and history to ensure the best possible outcome.

As for results, you will likely notice improved moderate perioral lines right after the injection. More noticeable results like chin projection in the lower jaw tend to appear two to three weeks after your injections as the filler settles and starts to go to work. You can enjoy the results for up to a year and then schedule maintenance treatments to ensure the best outcome.
