Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC is an injectable gel used for injection into the lips and perioral area for lip augmentation in adults over 21. It can also be used to treat Nasolabial folds and marionette lines.

The substance that makes up the Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC treatment is technically called hyaluronic acid. This lubricant occurs naturally in the body. Since this is a naturally occurring substance, many feel it is a better option for reducing the signs of aging such as frown lines, crow’s feet, and laugh lines.

How is Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC Administered at Your Practice?

Juvederm® Ultra Plus XC is a non-surgical treatment. Dr. Humphrey or Rebecca Thomasson, PA-C will inject the substance in the area you have agreed upon during your consultation. The Juvederm Ultra Plus XC® has lidocaine in it for added comfort, helping to make the injection as comfortable as possible. Please arrive early to be seated in a private room where ice packs and numbing cream are available for no additional charge.

What Can I Expect After Injections with Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC?

Right away, you will begin to notice a difference in the appearance of your face—including a reduction in wrinkles and normally a more youthful appearance. Within a few days, the full results will be more apparent, and you will have results that last for up to six to eight months.

Some minor inflammation, tenderness, redness, and bruising do occasionally occur. Though most patients from Heartland Plastic & Hand Surgery are able to immediately return to their normal activities.
